July is a wonderful month for the kitchen gardener, everything starts to happen, the first tomato fruits appear on the vine, aubergine plants begin to flower and the first black and redcurrants can be picked.

The apple tree is showing a glimpse of what is to come and the slow growing chillies are beginning to show signs of the harvest to come. Garlic and onions are ready to be dug up and left to dry and French and Italian beans are starting to show promise. A good month for Lobster, Cod and Mackerel.
